We are thrilled to offer free standard shipping for all US orders $50+. For orders under $50, we charge a flat fee of $9.99.

Orders will be fulfilled from the warehouse within 2-4 business days. Estimated delivery will be provided by the package carrier and is subject to change based on COVID safety measures and times of high shipping demand.

We know things don't always work out! We do not offer exchanges at this time, though you are free to return unwanted products within 30 days from date of shipment, no questions asked. All returns will be refunded to the original form of payment. Returns outside of the 30 day return window will not be honored.

Any refunds issued for returned product are refunded to the original method of payment. Depending on your financial institution, refunds post within 5-7 business days.

Jonathan Van Ness began his career as a professional hairstylist in Los Angeles. Jonathan was surrounded every day by unique beauty of all kinds—in his celebrity clients, in his non-celebrity clients, and in his diverse circle of friends.

But he didn't see that individuality and diversity reflected by the beauty industry itself, and although Jonathan had access to every product on the market, he had never found a truly efficacious, performance-based brand with strong sustainability roots.

Jonathan felt a calling to change the beauty industry from within, imagining a brand that would truly see and serve everyone—all hair types, all genders, all ages, all types of beauty—with innovative, high-performance formulas grounded in real scientific innovation. Working with Amyris, he learned more about the revolutionary ingredient hemisqualane and how it could deliver the benefits clients wanted for every single hair type while also having a low ecological footprint. With hemisqualane, JVN was born!

Two of the ingredients we make, squalane and hemisqualane, are 100% plant-derived from sustainably-sourced sugarcane in Brazil. The sugarcane grown in Brazil is one of the most sustainable sources of sugar. The sugarcane field we utilize is next to the production facility where the bagasse from the sugarcane stock is used for energy co-generation and the excess energy is released back to the power grid. There is no additional water needed to produce the sugar outside of natural rainfall. So cool, right!?!

Our products are formulated in our in house lab in California. We work with many different ingredient suppliers, including our own ingredients, Hemisqualane and Squalane which are made from sugarcane in Brazil.

All of our ingredients are ethically sourced. We take into consideration many aspects when sourcing ingredients.

We specifically choose ingredients where the extraction or usage does not impact the environment, including the animals and vegetation as well as taking into consideration the working environment for the employees involved.

Yes! We are proud to say that all our products are cruelty free and Leaping Bunny Certified.

Our product packaging is made from glass or aluminum and can be recycled. The pumps are made of other materials including PCR plastic.

We appreciate your efforts in reducing your carbon footprint and we are always striving to remain a clean and sustainable brand. At this time we do not sell refillable products. We recommend simply recycling your components with your normal recyclables.

Shampoo and Conditioner usage rate will depend on the amount and length of hair, and how often you wash your hair.

An estimated usage rate would be approx. 4-6 weeks (or 29-42 uses for those who don't wash every day) based on 7-10 ml per use of a 295 ml bottle.

All of our products have a Period After Opening symbol located on the exterior carton, which should be referenced for how long you should keep after opening.

Our Vegan Satin Pillowcase measures 26.5in (length) x 19in (width) and is made from rPET Satin (Recycled polyethylene terephthalate), a material derived from 100% recycled plastic water bottles. For washing: Pillowcases are machine washable. Turn the pillowcase inside out and wash in cool water on the gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air Dry.

Our Mini Detangling Brush measures 2.4in (width) x 5.7in (height). How to Use: Detangle wet or dry hair with this flexible brush made from 100% biodegradable wheat fiber, featuring ball-tipped nylon bristles and handle logo print.
